Although many presenter networks exist, as well as forums, roundtables and encounters relating to presenting, there are too few exchanges on creation—despite their central importance. This tends to isolate artists and producers in their thoughts about the nature and ramifications of dance works. In the same spirit as the Slash residencies, the Click encounters will thus set up think-tanks and support groups for creation.
What are the essential elements of creation, their precise nature and ramifications? What artistic role do producers play in their communities, as artistic directors or programmers? What is their approach to creation? Beyond financial considerations, what are their exact needs?
Based on the model of the literary salon, the Click discussions will arise from lively and informal meetings between choreographers, artists, theorists, presenters, producers, dramatists, curators, and members of the public from diverse backgrounds. Unfolding over the course of a day, the Click discussions will be a forum for free exchanges on current issues in art, with a central focus on creation.
