In 2007-2008, the second edition of CLASH, an event created by Lynda Gaudreau and co-produced by the Compagnie De Brune and Tangente, brought together choreographers Anne Thériault, Nicolas Cantin, Normand Marcy and Frédérick Gravel. During the last three residencies at Tangente, which took place in September 2007, February 2008 and May 2008, the choreographers developed choreographic material with the participation of six dance students. The dancers were able to participate in the project thanks to a partnership that was formed with the Université du Québec à Montréal’s Dance Department. A series of meetings with nineteen visual artists, critics, curators and theorists from Montreal also enriched the project.
Lynda Gaudreau and Tangente invite you to attend informal presentations on May 23rd, 24th and 25th. At this time, the artists will present the results of their research. These presentations are free and opened to the general public.
Developed and directed by Lynda Gaudreau, CLASH is an event devoted to choreographic research. It also provides an excellent opportunity for communication among artists. This project encourages the widespread circulation of ideas about contemporary issues and allows a real exchange about work methods. This project allows choreographers to develop choreographic material and to work closely with one another.
