OUT OF THE BLUE
Commissioned by the Festival dAvignon and the Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques (SACD), OUT OF THE BLUE is comprised of three solos for two dancers and a pop singer. At the border of cartoons, print and murder mystery, the characters evolve in a mostly empty space. Although minimal, the set design plays an important role as more than one hundred blue squares invade the stage over the course of the performance. These non quiet objects contribute to building suspense and interfere in odd ways on the unfolding of the event.
This performance was presented outdoors at the Festival dAvignon in 2009 and has since been adapted to the theatre.
Premiere: July 24, 2009, Jardin de la Vierge du Lycée Saint-Joseph, Festival dAvignon (France)
